FORUM-ASIA and the Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances (AFAD) has submitted a letter to some key government missions in Geneva, requesting them to support the adoption of the Draft (UN) International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance at the 62nd session of the UN Commission on Human Rights, and without letting procedural matters related to the Commission and the new UN Human Rights Council delay the adoption of such an important convention.
In addition, FORUM-ASIA along with two member organisations – the Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (PAHRA) and Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC), Nepal – has endorsed the NGO declaration in this regard by 75 NGOs, including organizations of relatives of disappeared persons.
