The World Forum for Democratization in Asia (WFDA) will hold their second biennial conference in Manila from 19 to 21 September 2007. After two years of building networks, this coming conference is to be one of the major gatherings of Asian democrats, whose main concern is the democratic development of the region. More than 100 people, including political leaders and members of international organisations and networks, are expected to attend.

The main objective for this conference is to evaluate the progress of “WFDA Framework for Action 2005-2007,” and deliberation of a new Framework for Action for the next two years. The programme includes speech by experts in the field of democratisation, “Leaders Forum” and a special commemoration for the International Day of Peace.

WFDA was established in 2005 to bring together democrats from all parts of Asia. The Biennial Conference is its vital event, which is one of the gatherings of Asian democrats on a regular basis. For more information, please visit: http://www.wfda.net/
