7 August 2018 3:30 pm
The alarming increase in incidents of violence based on faith and the discriminatory attitudes of police and administration in the year 2017 suggests that the religious minorities in Pakistan have little to hope for in the year 2018.
Published by FORUM-ASIA’s member National Commision for Justice and Peace (NCJP), this ‘Human Rights Monitor 2018 – A Report on the Religious Minorities in Pakistan’ documented incidents of violence in 2017 and presented its key findings: abuse of Blasphemy Laws; social discrimination; crimes against women; and violation of religious freedom in Pakistan.
The report highlighted that changes in laws and public policies are needed to restore the fundamental rights of all citizens.
