From Our Member Odhikar, Bangladesh – Human Rights Monitor Report (February 2018)

FORUM-ASIA member from Bangladesh, Odhikar, published its monthly human rights monitor report. The February 2018 report focuses on the following:
- Mass arrest of opposition party activists, indiscriminate cases filed, suppression and hindrance to freedom of assembly
- Internal conflict of the ruling party and attacks on ordinary citizens
- Allegations of extensive corruption
- Independence of the Judiciary
- Repression and impunity of state security forces
- Public lynching
- Hindrance to freedom of expression and the media
- Workers’ rights
- Special provision of the Child Marriage Restraint Act 2017 should be removed
- Violence against women
- Domination on Bangladesh by neighbouring state and human rights violations
- Genocide against Rohingya community in Myanmar
- Hindrance to human rights activities of Odhikar
