Civil society in Bangladesh concerned about the country’s National Human Rights Commission Ordinance

Civil society organisations in Bangladesh held a press conference on 26 February, expressing concern over the provisions of National Human Rights Commission Ordinance 2007, which was issued in December last year. The organisations say that the ordinance does not ensure independence, transparency, accountability, effectiveness of the commission to be established in the near future in the country.
