About:

We are Dakila (nobiity) – Philippine Collective for Modern Heroism, a group of artists, students, and individuals committed to working together to creatively spark social consciousness formation towards social change.

We believe that nobility begins in the mind and ends in action. Despite appearances and public perceptions, the name aspires to nobility — the potential to evoke what is truly great and heroic in every citizen.

We believe in the power of art to create a strong statement– music, visual arts, theatre, film, literature – whatever it may be that touches our hearts, lingers in our minds, creates twinkle in our eyes, and changes the way we view the world.

We believe in the value of the creative form in enriching the Filipino spirit, and that creativity, when taken to the edge, can help dismantle apathy and unleash our inner heroes.

We believe in the power of the collective. Individually, we may not be as strong as Superman or as fast as Flash, but altogether, with our own individual heroism combined, we can be stronger as superheroes combined and become builders of our nation.

We believe, most of all, in giving a little bit of ourselves in everything we do. Because it is in giving ourselves that we put something at stake and it is only after we risk that we have a chance in winning the battle towards the common good. And, at this time, when the country is faced with a multitude of challenge, every little act of courage and selflessness counts.
